CUB SCOUTS ARE KINDER TO 5TH GRADE

BOY SCOUTS ARE 6th GRADE AND ABOVE

The mission of the Scouting programs of America are to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them values, morality, and responsibility. Our mission is is to help support our youth while they develop into tomorrow's leaders and innovators.

The Scout Oath: "On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."

The Scout Law: "A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent."

The Girl Scout Law: "I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout."

Girl Scout Promise: "On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law. "

Originally we began with just Pack 1305. As our young men grew older and our sister siblings wanted to join in the fun, we have now grown. We charter a Boy Scout Troop, A Girls Scout Troop, and a Cub Scout Pack, with more to come. Our mission continues to be focused on youth leadership, development, growth and life skills . We go camping, we contribute to community service efforts, we teach our children to be safe and responsible.

Now that school is back in session, we have regular weekly meetings. We boast a high percentage of scouts earning rank, our leaders are well-trained and our scouts well-decorated. Come see for yourself. Join the fun! You are welcome to join us at any time! Check our calendar or contact page for more information

What did we do last year? We had a bike rodeo with Miami Shores Police Department. We helped with the Coastal Clean-Up efforts in North Shore Open Space Park. We went camping in Bill Baggs State Park, Cape Canaveral, Daytona Speedway, Fort Wilderness and Lion Country Safari. We visited Kennedy Space Center- our group was so large, we filled an entire tour bus! We've gone hiking, built birdhouses, planted trees, sponsored basketball teams, ran concession stands, run carnivals, told jokes, practiced magic, acted out skits, built robots, gone fishing, built and raced regattas, rockets and race cars, gone to Pow-Wows, toured fire stations, and some of our scouts were able to go on their first flight lesson! We had at least two events every month through the summer.

And what is happening now? Weekly meetings for this year start in September, 2019. Troop 1305 meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm (see Troop calendar for location). Pack 1305 meets on Wednesday nights at the Miami Shores Community Church from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. We have a great team of leaders with a full calendar planned. Come join us and see what we're all about!
